Enrollment Certification Requests for Current Students

How to request a letter certifying your enrollment
A letter of enrollment is an official letter verifying a student’s full time enrollment at RISD. Students who need a letter of enrollment may come to the Registrar’s Office and fill out an “Enrollment Certification” form or download one by clicking on Enrollment Certification Form.

Enrollment certification letters can also be requested by postal mail, fax, or email. Once a request is received, the letter is usually processed within three business days. Enrollment certification letters can be sent out in several ways. Please indicate how you prefer your letter to be sent out in your request. Letters can be sent out from the Registrar’s Office by postal mail, fax, campus box, or as a pdf attachment to an email.

Some insurance companies or lenders provide their own enrollment verification form, which requires RISD’s embossed seal or signature.  Simply fill in your portion, and submit the form to the Registrar’s Office for thier official signature.  Once a request is received, the form is usually processed within three business days.  Make sure to provide how you prefer the form to be sent out in your request.

Apostilles
Some countries outside of the United States require an “Apostille” on certain documents, usually diplomas or transcripts. The Registrar’s Office will take care of that service for you upon request and upon payment of the nominal fee. The fee, in the form of a check, must accompany the document and is made out to “Rhode Island Secretary of State” for the amount of $5.00. Please allow 7 to 10 days for processing.
